What is Pyrography?

Pyrography is an ancient art form, with roots that stretch back thousands of years. The word itself comes from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing), meaning to “write with fire.” It’s a timeless technique that has been used by cultures across the world to bring warmth, meaning, and beauty to everyday objects. This sacred craft connects us to a lineage of creators who used the elements to tell their stories. For me, each hat I burn is a modern twist on this ancient tradition—a way to honor the past while creating something deeply personal for today. Every stroke of the heated tool captures not just a design, but a feeling, a story, a piece of you.
